Neuralink Corporation is a neurotechnology company developing invasive implantable brain-machine interfaces and was founded by Elon Musk and others. The company’s headquarters is in the Pioneer Building in San Francisco sharing offices with OpenAI. Neuralink was launched in 2016 and was first publicly reported in March 2017.
The Link is the first neural implant that will let you control a computer or mobile device anywhere you go.
Micron-scale threads are inserted into areas of the brain that control movement. Each thread contains many electrodes and connects them to an implant, the Link.
Neurosurgery – The threads on the Link are so fine and flexible that they can’t be inserted by the human hand. Instead, we are building a robotic system that the neurosurgeon can use to reliably and efficiently insert these threads exactly where they need to be.
Neuralink is a device that will first be used to help paraplegics with simple tasks such as using an iPhone and making mouse clicks on a computer — by making no physical movement. … So far, Neuralink prototypes have been tested on rodents and animals (pigs) and apparently even a monkey, according to Musk.
According to the Neuralink site, the question asked is why do electrodes need to be connected directly to the brain? Neural activity can be monitored from outside the head using non-invasive techniques such as EEG. With these techniques, each channel records the summed activity of millions of neurons, which means the details are blurred away. An example of this is experiencing a sports event through a microphone placed outside the stadium. From the roars or groans of the crowd, you can tell when something good or bad happens to the home team, but you’ll have a hard time distinguishing whether they scored or made a great defensive play. And you certainly wouldn’t be able to hear what individual people were saying about the game. The same is true for recording from the brain: recordings made at a distance provide some useful, high-level information, but to access fine-scale information, you need to be close to the source. Here, that means recording action potentials, or voltage “spikes,” from individual neurons. Currently, that can only be done by placing electrodes inside the brain.
I am particularly interested in neuroscience technology as I am researching and studying neuroplasticitywith the view to cure my brain and my intrusive negative thoughts. I am watching Neuralink evolve to see how it may in the future use no invasive technology to combat issues of depression and anxiety and other mental health illnesses.
I like the idea of being able to download our memories and upload them somewhere else. This would be beneficial for people with severe brain damage. However, uploading this data one would have to use massive amounts of storage space as we as humans have according to Dr. Leaf, “the average person has over 30,000 thoughts a day.” Many of these are a result of uncontrolled thinking. Often grief takes over so much that it turns into depression and anxiety and other representations of ill mental and physical health.
On Thursday, 28/10/21, or if you are in the USA 10/28/21 Mark Zuckerberg CEO of Facebook announced he will officially became the CEO and chairman of Meta, the new parent company name for Facebook.
The rebrand is to make the brand futuristic it is about solidifying the social media giant as being about the metaverse, which Zuckerberg sees as the future of the internet. Zuckerberg is staying in control of everything.
The definition of ‘Metaverse’ has a rather broad meaning: it doesn’t necessarily exist, it is speculative with the hopes that developers and coders will in the future turn this concept into a reality. Metaverse is a vision for the future iteration of the Internet, made up of persistent, shared, 3D virtual spaces linked into a perceived virtual universe. The metaverse in a broader sense may not only refer to virtual worlds but the Internet as a whole, including the entire spectrum of augmented reality.
We are spiritual beings in physical bodies, imagine if technology could make us immortal. Imagine teleporting to the other side of the world using augmented reality and holograms. Imagine educating surgeons to perform operations or hold conferences in virtual reality boardrooms. Imagine what this would do for our planet. This concept would help the environment cut down on emissions and help people with disabilities to venture into the yonder where previously it was not possible.
“The Metaverse is an expansive network of persistent, real-time rendered 3D worlds and simulations that support continuity of identity, objects, history, payments, and entitlements, and can be experienced synchronously by an effectively unlimited number of users, each with an individual sense of presence.”
PROJECT CAMBRIA HEADSET
“Project Cambria” codenamed, is a virtual reality device and will probably be quite an expensive one, it is the headset for the future. Mark Zuckerberg believes that a billion people will be connected to the metaverse within the next decade. The headset won’t be a replacement for the Oculus Quest.
Metaverse “improved social presence” isn’t actually technology as such it is a futuristic concept that is being evolved by developers and coders with the vision technologies that will allow people to live in a virtual world. “Facebook”, eg, the new brand name “Meta” uses this phrase to describe the value of interactions on Instagram and Facebook the platform.
The metaverse is a concept coined in the 1992 sci-fi novel Snow Crash to describe a kind of three-dimensional virtual reality version of the internet where people are present as avatars and move through a digital representation of a physical world.
However, holograms are nothing new, in fact, a city in Saudia Arabia “NEOM” is dubbed as the futuristic city. Neom a cross-border city in the Tabuk Province of northwestern Saudi Arabia is incorporating smart city technologies and also function as a tourist destination created the vision of a Prince’s $500 Billion Desert Dream: Flying Cars, Robot Dinosaurs, and a Giant Artificial Moon. The site is located in the north of the Red Sea, east of Egypt across the Strait of Tiran, and south of Israel and Jordan.
I wrote a while back about AI and Robot Inventions and am pleased to say www.aiinventions.com (AI INVENTIONS) Domain Names is For Sale.
For all AI Inventors who have AI Inventions, imagine having a site and showcasing the most trending projects. The domain is not developed, although I can offer this as an extra service or you may already have a team of IT experts and simply would like to acquire the domain name only. If you are interested in this domain or perhaps know of someone please do share this post with them to help me spread awareness so that I can reach the right people.
More AI News coming soon. In fact, I will be writing about a technology that will put a lot of electricity suppliers out of business.Stay tuned.
Metaverse keyword comes to mind, as I write this update I am currently listening to a live feed on Facebook hosted by the CEO himself, Mark Zuckerberg.
Metaverse is the creation of the future where you will be able to teleport anywhere around the world, excellent for people with disabilities that may find traveling challenges. It will save on the carbon footprints and help to keep the planet green. Businesses could save time and money traveling to meetings when they could hold virtual holographic meetings from the comfort of their homes or offices. Surgeons will be able to perform operations from the other side of the world using AR & VR. Student Doctors will be able to perform virtual operations as practice and education. People will be able to virtually swim with the dolphins or explore the great barrier reef. Schools. Colleges and Universities will be able to conduct virtual lectures.
People who are wheelchair-bound will be able to use their avatars and work out in the virtual reality space. The possibilities are endless.
Metaverse generally refers to shared virtual world environments which people can access via the internet.
The domain name www.AIINVENTIONS.com is the site people will be searching for to find the latest trending inventions. This is exciting especially as I am an advocate for people with disabilities and it was only by chance I stumbled upon this.
As most of my readers know I am a website designer and also have disabilities. I think “Metaverse” will certainly help with my disabilities in the future and people like myself.
**Please Note: Although I am promoting the domain name with the view of selling it I am now in two minds to develop it myself and will consider a partnership. My vision would be to offer advertising space to showcase the latest trending inventions and promote other people’s inventions, it all depends on who can bring me an offer I will not be able to refuse.
I will be monitoring the progress more closely and will be writing future articles on these exciting inventions. I will be keeping a close eye on this evolving technology.
We will in the future be able to step beyond the physical world. Who knows we may all become immortal someday and be connected with loved ones for eternity. Our memories could be stored uploaded and transferred to AI Smart Bots.
My Ideas unless they have already been invented. 1) I think a handy invention would be a gadget that can release smells, such as perfumes, scents, or food smells. If it has not been invented I claim the idea here first. 2) Another invention to replace eyesight (blindness) with a digital lens that can be linked to the brain which would be able to see, record, and store data, again if this has not been invented you saw it here first, and finally, 3) a people tracker to keep their distance of two meters apart in the form of an app that alerts the user that another person is close by, this would be especially useful in a Pandemic or for women walking home alone. Foot Note. I am not an inventor, they are just ideas, but they are my ideas nonetheless and unless someone has already thought of them already. I will be doing some research and your comments are will be appreciated.
My dilemma today is online security. After personally being asked for my CVV number when I started a contract with O2 over the phone the other day I am now going to voice my concerns on virtual paper.
If I look at how I collect online payments I use a secure gateway called www.stripe.com and www.gocardless.com both these payment collection services do not allow me to see the customers credit card details let alone their CVV number.
To collect payments I always send an email link where the customer clicks and goes to checkout, this is a more secure way of getting payments and is 100% encrypted.
However to collect payments over the phone in the situation we are in now whilst working from home I think this should not happen and if it does one should not give the CVV number. According to O2 they needed my card to do a credit check, they did not need my CVV number as I was not making a transaction, they just simply wanted to verify who I was yet they asked for it anyway and when I complained they said it was their policy and for me to take it or leave it.
At first I used my main card which has a bit of money on it and quickly thinking I remembered I had a second card with less money on so I used that one instead, but I had a horrible feeling what if my details where cloned/screenshot and used later on perhaps in a few weeks time, how would I expalin to the bank that says never give your pin or your CVV number to anyone. Would I get my money back if my bank account was wiped out overnight because I gave my CVV number out?, I do not think so. In fact an estimated £10 million is mishandled and sensitive client information is leaked across the internet each and every year. The PCI compliant solution ensures that this figure is decreased year on year.
If you are to collect telephone payments you should do it through an encrypted phone line.
So today another company ended on my radar when they phoned a friend of mine for a late payment and wanted to collect payment over the phone and again this company asked for the CVV number( which may I add he did not complain and I took it upon myself to invesitigate further without his knowledge). I thought it was wrong and contacted the company and their response was that it is common practice to ask for the CVV numbers over the phone…… What also was astonishing was that this very same company charged a late payment charge which I would have thought they would waiver considering the situation people are in right now especially as some people like my friend has recently lost his job.
I too have on my terms and conditions and on all my invoices a late payment disclaimer but I only use it as a deterrent and very rarely execute this unless the client is persistently avoiding payment.
So with the present climate am I going to enforce it on my clients who are late paying?, of course I am not, it would be like kicking someone in the teeth when they are down.
I understand if we were working in a normal economy and things were normal, but we are not and we need to be compassionate and think would that charge have gone on food rather than milk the customer dry.
In my opinion I hope the company reimburse my friend any late payments charges as that would be the decent thing to do.Furthermore they should offer my friend smaller re-payments and this goes for every car dealer in the country and insurance company until people start going back towork.
Do not take advantage of people when they are at their lowest, think that this could happen to you and how would you feel. Just because you are a CEO or Director of a business does not make you invinsible or any different to a consumer.
Treat your customers right and the customers will look after you. Remember it takes years to build a good reputation and minute to ruin one.
My T&C’s has £100 late payment charge but I will not enforce it as I do not believe in taking advantage of people and I would rather help them make smaller payments to bring the account up to date. Besides the government is helping businesses stay afloat so showing empathy and compassion makes you a better person and a better company.
So I have started a ripple effect seeing as I am not associated with this particular company they have now raised a few flags with security data non PCI Compliancy and how they are taking advantage of people with late payments and in this day and age they need businesses like myself to market them to bring them more business.
It is common practice to encrypt calls and if they are not you can report a company to https://www.pcisecuritystandards.org/ if setting a payment over the phone and one is made to hand over a security number to a total stranger, this is deemed a secuity breach. Simply handing over your CVV number to another human is very risky to the consumer and goes with heavy fines for the company if they are caught taking payments over the phone without being PCI compliant.
If you need to collect a card payment send an email with a link that gets encrypted if you do not want to take payments over the phone. Otherwise ensure you are PCI compliant in order not to risk being fined.
I am not saying everyone is dishonest in this world but it only takes one person to clear out your bank account and they may not neccessarily do it on the same day you spoke with them it could be they hand it over to an accomplice or wait a week or two to cover their tracks.
Businesses should evaluate how they collect payments. If a payment has defaulted try getting the payment again, try at least two times and if after that the payment has not been paid then write an email and a letter saying that the account needs to be brought up to date and offer to help and give options especially if the person has run into a problems paying.
Do not slam late payment charges as the person may be in a vulnerable state and you do not know their circumstances. No one likes being in debt and all it takes a bit of communication and your problems get solved as well as theirs. You get the payment albeit it maybe a smaller amount over a longer period but at least you are helping the individual aswell as yourself. Afterall I would not want it on my conscience if someone did something to themselves just because I was hounding them for money.
Communicate by letter, not everyone likes to talk over the phone.
Give payment options
Consider lowering the payments and collecting them over a longer period.
Do not enforce late payment charges it does not say much about you if you do, especially now with the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic and people who have lost their jobs, their self esteem is not very high right now and they should not be worried about paying bills.
When collecting payments over the phone have a secure encrypted line, did you know that business can be fined if they collect payments over the phone if they are not “PCI Compliant” No business handling payments is exempt from this fine, currently standing at 4% of annual turnover. Ensuring that your business is PCI compliant will stop the 4% fine and any future fines. To read further please go here: https://www.telecomsworldplc.co.uk/pci-compliancy
***I am calling on all businesses regardless of the industry you are in, that if you want to take payments over the phone that unless you are PCI Compliant you are risking getting fined.
For example, you may be a driving instructor, electrician, a factory production company to just name just a few, so what do you do when you are on lockdown and in isolation how do you turn this around? You obviously do not want to lose your customers and how do you generate more business and most importantly how do you survive and continue paying your staff that is the big question?
Firstly, the UK Government has grants and loans available that they are giving to businesses in need of help.
Secondly defer production and explain to your customers the situation, be transparent and in order to secure business further down the line give incentives. I know you may be already finding finances hard but remember you have the business already established, you just need to postpone it for a little while and for new customers give them special offers so that you can secure their business.
Remember keep safe and don’t try to break the rules as you may lose your license or get fined, Sports Direct have already suffered public condemnation for needlessly trying to stay open and pubs who continue to trade in Lockins are liable to have their licenses taken off them.
Conduct daily morning meeting with your workers and give them motivation and inspiration to work. We can become very complacent in our own homes and have distractions that can easily send us astray. Workers need to stay focused and need to have daily tasks set for them with goals they need to achieve and report on.
When you have automatic recurring costs that you charge your customers, consider suspending the costs and give them credit for future business. Work out your cash flow for the next few months and refrain on spending on unnecessary subscriptions and services, try to minimise your spending and revaluate your overheads as a whole and see where you can cut costs to the minimum. Discuss with your bank your situation and see if they can help you with extended loans or get government grants that can tide you over.
The government are bringing in new measures to assist small businesses, freelancers and sole traders. Do keep up to speed of what assistance you are able to claim. If you have an accountant speak to them about any financial advice, they can give you, after all that’s what they are there for.
Secure your future:
Going back to the example of say driving instructors offer special offers like book your bulk 40 lessons now and get 6 -10 lessons free with lessons resuming in April for example. I am being optimistic the lockdown will be lift in April.
Electricians book your appointment now with work to be carried out in April with no call out charge only if you use the code: covid19 and book now for example and the offer is only available for advanced bookings.
If you are a production company waiver all charges in order to secure your business give incentives that is the key.
The public mind-set will be altered over the next year or so, therefore you need to find ways to reassure your customers and give them a reason to use you. Marketing campaigns and advertising are going to be main factors in order to generate new business. Consider what you need to do in order to drive business. LinkedIn is a good way to start advertising, but you need a lot of connections or know of someone that has a lot of connections. The alternative is to consider pay per click advertising such as Google AdWords, Facebook Ads and LinkedIn Sponsor Ads.

ONE.COM The hosting company for website and domain names. No I am not putting them on a pedestal to market them as being the best hosting company on the planet on the contrary I am putting them on a pedestal for being one of the worst. I cannot say they are the worst as there could be worse hosting companies out there.
Instead I will just highlight how they have added an extra fee for renewing domain names. So if you are in the business of buying and selling domain names you will know that DNS Domain Administration comes part and parcel of the package of renewing domain names as without a DNS system one cannot alter DNS Records or forward domain names.
So a .CO.UK Domain Renewal on any other registrars website costs £10 plus vat but this company ONE.COM are charging for the domain name renewal and also the DNS administration system as you can see below:
This is a scam if I ever I saw one and the customers they have most probably do not know that DNS comes as default with a Domain Name and should not be charged as an add on.
I would avoid ONE.com like the plague, all they have been is problem after problem from the start and God knows what nightmare stories their ex-customers would have to say given half the chance.
Slowly but surely they will end up loosing me as a customer. Customer services were no better basically saying if I did not like it, to take a running jump, I would call their bluff but I cannot afford one of the domain names going into migration over to another registrar as that would mess up one of my clients websites, which I cannot afford to do right now, considering ONE.com lost his blog (it just disappeared off the face of the www) not so long ago.
As you are aware I am down sizing my portfolio with one.com and am moving over to another hosting provider.
Upon checking a particular website today the contact page was off centre.
This means when I published it the other day they must have re-published my site (even though they claim they NEVER do).
So today I spend my valuable time talking to these idiots again and they admit that they had done a bug fix the other day which may have caused one of my codes to be none responsive.
If my site was working fine the other day and you do a bug fix and it is not working fine today you should reimburse me and you fix the problem without blaming everyone else on the planet bar yourselves.
This is NOT the first time they have done this and then tried blaming the consumer.
I am livid to say the least and hope and pray my client does not see the unresponsive page, they only lost his blog and could not retrieve off their server. I am amazed that they have any business.
…….since writing my post earlier they found that it was not a bug fix but something else which the technician should have spotted before creating a ticket and I did not get an apology, says it all…..

The law protects people’s right to privacy in a number of ways.
The European Convention on Human Rights protects a person’s right “to respect for his private and family life, his home and his correspondence“.
