Building a Business Can Positively Impact Your Community

Small businesses make big differences in their communities. In fact, small businesses have added millions of jobs to the economy while many national corporations have eliminated positions. Of course, their impact goes beyond job opportunities — small businesses influence neighborhood culture and become a staple of hometowns.

However, launching a small business takes careful planning, especially if your goal is changing your city for the better. The following steps prepare you for the realities of running a company while balancing local giving.

For your next digital marketing project, connect with Cymru Digital Marketing to scale your business!

Find Your Niche

Your first decision is what goods or services to sell. It’s essential to offer something the community needs, so do some research to find your niche. For example, if you want to open a restaurant, look at what’s missing from the neighborhood menu. There may be many fast food places but no options for health-conscious customers.

Apply for Funding

Every company needs capital to get off the ground. Fortunately, there are plenty of resources for small businesses:

  • Grants
  • Small business loans
  • Entrepreneur programs

You can also look for investors who agree to finance your enterprise for a percentage of business ownership.

Set Up Your Website

Even if you cater to local customers, you still need a website. While it’s possible to create your own with templates, you’ll save time by outsourcing to a professional web designer. The expert team at Cymru Digital Marketing can ensure your site is aesthetically pleasing, user-friendly, and fully functional.

Maintain Cash Flow With Invoicing Software

In any business, large or small, accurate invoicing is essential to maintaining cash flow and keeping track of what is owed to you. While billing by hand may be fine for a one-person operation, as soon as you start working with multiple clients or taking on employees, manual invoicing becomes time-consuming and error-prone. This is where invoicing software can save the day. Customer invoicing software automates the billing process, making it faster and easier to generate accurate invoices. You’ll also be able to add a button to invoices that allow customers to pay online.

Advertise Locally

Local advertisements get local customers. To bring in the crowds, focus your marketing with the following strategies:

Partner With Local Entrepreneurs

Connecting to other local businesses is a great way to support your peers and offer more to the community. One of the best ways to do so is by joining municipal associations. These are usually organized by industry, allowing you to meet entrepreneurs with similar aspirations and challenges.

Support Community Charities

Local shops are uniquely positioned to work with charities within the community. You can do so by donating directly, hosting campaigns that donate a portion of sales, and even volunteering time, space, and labor.

Tap Into Local Talent

As a local business, you can create opportunities for the talent in your neighborhood. When looking to expand your workforce or hire a contractor, look nearby. A great place to start is universities and trade schools. Reaching out to new graduates and trainees keeps resources in the community.

Running a small business takes determination and a clear vision of the future, but it’s also incredibly fulfilling, especially when you contribute to your community. With the right approach, your enterprise and neighborhood can flourish.

Likes.com can be the next Twitter.

Keep your business moving forward

Likes.com Can Be The Next Twitter.

Why Settle For Second Best (Twitter) When You Can Have Likes.com?

Elon Musk is in the news because he wants to acquire “Twitter.com”.

OK I get it, he wants his own social media platform that he can control, but what if there was an easier way and he had something everyone is doing for the most part and that is getting likes to social media posts. Imagine having a domain name called www.likes.com

With the right people to build a platform, Elon would own a social media app that could potentially blow everyone else out of the water, it is not exactly rocket science.

Having a team dedicated to the platform, from website designers and app developers to digital marketers and social media influencers will be quicker to launch than building a colony on Mars. He would have to employ a special ops department specifically for the project. This project would be bigger than anything he could imagine and he would have to have offices in multiple regions. This would need planning from who would build the platform to the staff that would have to run it on a daily basis. This would create jobs in multiple countries.

If I were in Elon’s shoes I would build something Grander than Twitter or Meta/Facebook and let the other social media platforms hurtle into cyberspace.

With all the money he is expected to pay to get control of ‘Twitter’ I would save him the money and the trouble and get him to build something himself, rather than squabble over ownership of a platform I personally very rarely use @ukdomainbrokers, although Elon @elonmusk is pretty active on there.

Recovered Stolen Electrician Domain Name.

Recovered Stolen Electrician Domain Name.

With the support of UK Website Designers, City of London Police, and Nominet, Jeff Smith the owner of “First Phase Electrical Wales” has today successfully recovered the domain name www.firstphaseelectricalwales.co.uk

I had written about this case on my other Domain Brokering site many months ago and the problems arising from using offshore website designers, that basically cybersquatting the domain name which eventually getting it suspended by the City of London Police and Nominet.

However, it was an enormous task to delete all the breadcrumbs and carbon footprint this domain had incurred over the years that showed the domain in a bad light. The backlinks have been updated although we were not able to successfully catch them all, hopefully now business will pick up seeing we have now acquired the domain name and is in safe hands.

You can read the whole story here:

Using Offshore Website Designers Part 1

Using Offshore Website Designers Part 2

Using Offshore Website Designers Part 3

Jeff is now really pleased that the domain name has been successfully registered and is pointing to his business.

Jeff also asked us to put a review on his website which can be located towards the bottom of his website www.firstphaseelectricalwales.co.uk

UK Website Designers built two sites for Jeff both exact match searchable keywords domain names www.electricianswales.co.uk and www.pattestingwales.co.uk whilst his original branded domain had been compromised and was waiting to be recovered. It took over a year to finally get the domain back to its rightful owner.

Contracts.

The problem with website designers is unless a client has a contract stating the domain names that have been registered on the client’s behalf which will be released on termination of the agreement the business owner could get unstuck getting their domain names back as in the case of Jeff and his previous website designers.

Jeff is fortunate to have such a contract with “UK Website Designers” as we do not do business without signed agreements.

We have learned by our mistakes, the hard way over the years that not having contracts can become messy and as with one passport photographer in particular located in Cardiff who got “UK Website Designers” to build him 3 websites and he then started having financial problems paying, yet he had full control of the hosting and domain names.

Without a signed agreement it was difficult to prove what he had agreed to and that is when we decided that we would never get unstuck like that again.

All businesses should have contracts for the services they offer and anyone that just wants a gentlemen’s handshake should be avoided. A person who refuses to sign a contract obviously has ulterior motives.

Supporting Your Local Business.

Electrician In Wales.

If you are in South Wales UK and are reading this please support your local business and share this article with your connections as Jeff has lost a lot of business because of these people in India.

If you have any electrical work that needs doing-especially coming up to the holiday season with Halloween and Christmas lights and rewiring hots spots for kitchen Appliances or Landlord Property Safety checks and Commercial Properties Jeff is the man to call.

Unprofessional Website Designers

Unprofessional Rogue Website Designers.

I was on my Facebook Business Groups yesterday when I got a notification that someone was offering their services as a website designer for free.

As in any industry you will get cowboys or unprofessional people. But when they are on my doorsep I will call them out as they give the rest of us a bad name.

When anyone says something is for free there is always a catch, as nothing is free in this world. When something is free it usually means there is a trial and prices or fees will be incurred thereafter.

Their pitch said they would build a website for free but hosting and a domain name was not included.

So without hesitation, I asked the question how much is the hosting and how much is the domain name, and do they do SEO?

I also asked the question how long will it take to get the website on the first page of Google.

Now any competent website designer will not just build a website and let it float in cyberspace, they will do everything possible to optimize it using SEO strategies.

So the person replied and was immediately on the defense that SEO was not included, they would not disclose the price of the hosting or price of a domain name. He went on to say so he would think I was in the know to ask the question but if I was really in the know I would know there is no time frame for search engines to rank a website. I did not respond as I did not want to give the game away, as usually, it takes anything from 12 to 18 months to get a website on the first page of Google although I do not want to blow my own trumpet I have got websites on the first page of Google between 1 to 3 months in the past using my own strategies.

The reason why I tried to call this person out is I once price matched a client’s previous web developer prices only to find they did not include SEO in which I do by default. The client who was clueless about the website design industry wanted to pay the same as the previous developers and I agreed to match the price only to find out that they were not that professional until it was too late.

The post yesterday grabbed the attention of more clueless people who would struggle to get their businesses on the first page of any search engine without extensive SEO and Marketing in which this person was not including in his offer.

It was no suprised I was then blocked from that post.

I feel sorry for the people that get sucked in by these amateurs claiming to be professional website designers.

Also, beware of companies offering to scan your sites, they will always say your website is 💩 and give you a hundred million reason why you should ditch you current web designer just so that they can get business from you.

If you feel your website needs improving or you could do with more traffic talk to your current web designer, they don’t bite and will do everything they can to keep you as a customer.

Nine times out of ten you will get a company from India disguised as a company from the UK. Do due diligence and make sure they can prove they are a legitimate company trading in the UK.

Do not get scammed by rogue traders aka Rhys Griffiths so-called web designer on Facebook who I called out the other day and he ended up blocking me because he must have found out who I am and what I do.

40 Ways To Get More Business.

Advertising & Marketing.

40 Ways to Get More Business.

I have decided today to take a leaf out of my own book and practice what I preach.

With that said I am going to develop a directory of businesses and forums on my site where people can come and hang out. It is in the beta stage at the moment, watch this space.

I may even start a local periodical magazine.

There is a saying ‘If the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain‘ arises from the story of Muhammad, as retold by Francis Bacon, in Essays, 1625: Mahomet called the Hill to come to him. … If the mountain will not come to Mahomet, Mahomet will go to the mountain.

In other words get people to come to you, rather than you going to them. Moving one stone at a time you will eventually move the mountain.

  1. Design and market a business blog. In fact I have several and use them as part of my SEO link wheel. Once you have decided what your blog is about you need to have categories of different topics people actively search for and want help with. Tip use keywords in your categories.

Renata Entrepreneur Personal Brand Promotion.

The owner of this blog https://marketingagency.cymrumarketing.com/ – https://www.cymrumarketing.co.uk and static site www.cymrumarketing.com has launched her own Personal Brand ‘Renata Entrepreneur’ Virtual Business Card.

Its early days but I have acquired both domain names www.renataentrepreneur.com and www.renataentrepreneur.co.uk

The site is just over a week old and I wanted something that would reflect who I am and what I do.

In the early days I used to have www.renatamaziak.co.uk and then www.renatamaziak.com which I dropped. I found people could not spell my surname. I have now re-branded myself so unless people cannot spell ‘entrepreneur’ 🤣 I should be easier to find.

This is going to be my virtual business card nothing more and nothing less, just something to point people to, in the right direction. It will save me time as I have lots of people asking me what I do and it takes me forever in a day to explain.

The idea came into my head after a telesales person looked me up on line and found a site that I was associated with many years ago. I want to set the record straignt that people can simply look me up online and see what I do at a glance without having to search tonnes and tonnes of information.

Explaining who I am is no easy task as I diversify in a wide range of services.

I have many blogs, static site’s and social media pages.

I ideally wanted www.renata.com but it was gone many years ago to a watch battery manufacturer/distributor called ‘Renata’.

Its ok I am happy with what I have chosen and it serves its purpose.

www.renataentrepreneur.com

Please Note: Anyway reading this please do not offer me alternative domain names, as the answer will be the same, unless you want to gift me the domain name, I am not interested.
